Don Feliciano is the guardian of ancestral knowledge about the cuviví harvest in his community. Despite social economic challenges, he is dedicated to preserving tradition and connecting future generations to it.
Sisa is a thoughtful and determined young woman who finds herself at a crossroads, contemplating the possibility of migrating to the United States. Despite the allure of better opportunities abroad, she grapples with the decision, torn between her aspirations for a brighter future and her deep connection to her community and traditions.
As the director, it's my duty to authentically capture Feliciano and Sisa's stories. I worked carefully to ensure their narratives stay true throughout the filming process. My commitment to preserving their dignity stays strong even after the filming is complete. Sisa wants to go to school, and create a better life for her community, and I'm determined to help that happen.
I am a non-fiction filmmaker, producer, director, and editor. My dedication to the Ozogoche community extends beyond the screen. Our bond is strong and lasting because film is what brought us together.

"Ozogoche" is a film that explores the daily life of Feliciano, an elder of the Kichwa indigenous people, and his granddaughter, Sisa. As they await the arrival of the "Cuvivís", migratory birds from North America known for their ritual of collective suicide in the lakes of Ozogoche, the film draws a stark contrast with the migration patterns of the local indigenous community, who, due to a lack of opportunities and the harsh impact of climate change, are driven to leave their homes and migrate to the United States in search of a better future.
The film serves as a call to action, emphasizing the need to support the Ozogoche community by raising funds to foster educational and sustainable tourism initiatives that preserve their unique culture while providing new economic opportunities.
