Protagonists of the documentary film Step Into the Comfort Zone. Larysa is a single mother of four who had to flee from her war-torn native town Bakhmut in the East of Ukraine. Bako is a mother of two from the rural area of Kazakhstan, who just came out as lesbian and is fearing persecution.
Help Us Support Larysa & Bako! Our protagonists met online at the end of 2022. They have been dating for over a year, and last November they finally saw each other in Lviv. You can watch this moment in the video below. They hoped to start their new life in Europe, but due to bureaucracy Bako could not get into the EU. She is now back in Kazakhstan and is trying to collect money for a work visa, plane tickets, and initial expenses, for a new attempt to be happy with Larysa again.
