Laura Plancarte (Mexico City, 1974) is a Mexican filmmaker who lives and works in London. In 2006-07 she was awarded a grant from BNP Paribas in recognition of her career as an artist.
Our Collaboration enriched the project immensely and resolved ethical dilemmas about exposing the participants in ways they don’t wish to be seen. It’s been great to collaborate with Male instead of just observing and filming her. The way she represents herself on camera is incredibly powerful and authentic.
